Check several names at once

Nobody arrives at a name with one candidate. You have a shortlist, and the question is which of them is actually free.

Why one at a time does not work

Registrar search boxes take one name, because they are selling you that one domain. Checking a shortlist of eight means eight searches for the domain, eight for the App Store and eight on the trademark register — and by the end you have forgotten what the first one said.

One table instead

Type up to 10 names, one per line. NamingBay checks each against the domain endings you pick, up to 8 at a time, the Apple App Store and live US trademarks that contain the name, and lays the results out as one table: names down the side, checks across the top. Available means nobody has it. Taken means it is registered or a live match exists. Pending means a source did not answer and you should try again in a few minutes.

Compare, then share

The table is the point. A name that is free everywhere stands out on sight, and a name that is taken in the one place that matters to you is easy to cross off. When you are done, the share link carries the whole result to whoever else has a say.
